Do The Right Thing (1989) + BlacKkKlansman (2018)

#BlackLivesMatter Shea & Dave do something a little different this week, deciding to watch two Spike Lee films & celebrate the importance of film in telling important stories & educating us at a time of conflict in the world in which education & understanding is more important than ever. We discuss both Do The Right Thing & BlacKkKlansman, talking about the themes & storylines that unfortunately are so fresh to us in light of the uprisings for equality in the wake of George Floyd's senseless murder, & the subsequent police brutality against the protestors simply asking to be treated as equals. We also celebrate the films themselves, talking about the feats of filmmaking & writing that Spike brings to the world of film & how important his voice is. PLEASE. Read, learn, listen, activate yourself. Be an ally to the cause of bringing true freedom & equality for ALL. ** I have noted since uploading there is the occasional audio pop/crackle, I do apologise. They are rare but just pop up occasionally, for some reason.
